There was a time from the late 1950’s through the mid-1970’s when, pretty
much every weekend, you’d see Vermont families pile into their jeeps and
head off into the hills for a true family adventure. Vermont Overland is
doing its best to revive what we like to call “good old fashioned Vermont jeeping” (or Land Rovering, Toyotaing,
Dodging, whatever you happen
to drive). You see, unknown to most Vermont visitors and even full-time
residents,
Vermont has
an incredible network of
ancient public
byways that, despite not being maintained for decades, if not centuries, are
still legally passable public roads. Further, jeeping is one of the few
activities that’s fun for the whole family. From Mom and Dad right on down
to very young children, everyone loves the thrill of riding in a 4x4 on
rugged terrain.
So,
regardless of what type of 4x4 you drive,
contact Vermont
Overland today to book your adventure of a lifetime.
Vermont Overland Guide Services, LLC specializes in

the whole family.

As a national champion cyclist, Peter loves the outdoors and quickly discovered that Vermont has an amazing network of rugged, unmaintained roads great for all sorts of recreation, especially off-road driving. After graduating from law school and fueled by his growing passion for off-road adventure, Peter founded one of Vermont’s most active four-wheeling clubs, the Vermont Expedition Society. Along with many of his fellow VTXS members, Peter has earned off-road training certificates from both Bill Burke’s 4-Wheeling America as well as Overland Experts. With the success of VTXS’ TVTX Expedition, Peter, along with Jamil Abbasy, realized that off-road exploring is a perfect family activity for visitors to this lovely state. It was at this moment that the idea of Vermont Overland Guide Services was conceived. When Peter isn’t exploring the Vermont countryside with KimAnn, his two children, Peter Jr. and Gracie, their Jack Russell Terrier, “Jack,” and their Dachshund, “Gretel,” you’ll find him at his day-job, a real estate lawyer at Vollers Law in Woodstock, VT.

Jamil Abbasy grew up off-roading with his family on the sand dunes of Nantucket. Nothing was better than driving and picnicking on the beach with his family. The moment he got his drivers license he visited the Equinox Driving School in Manchester, VT, where he learned the fundamentals of off-road driving. Jamil likes to spend a lot of his time in the New England outdoors hiking, cycling, camping, and off-roading. A member of the Vermont Expedition Society since its inception, he currently serves as the president. Jamil has also taken a driving course with Overland Experts. He lives in the Pioneer Valley of Western MA and works as a dentist at the Tufts Dental Facilities for the Special Needs in Palmer, MA.
